Some. Suspension components soften over the first 50–80 hours, smoothing the sub-bass and adding a touch of treble extension. We ship every unit pre-burned for 24h, so you hear most of the change immediately and the rest within a couple of weeks of normal use.
On M1, in controlled listening, no — LDAC at 990 kbps matches the analog cable's signal-to-noise ratio. In high-RF environments (city, transit) the wired connection is more stable. Both cables ship in the box: 3.5mm and 4.4mm balanced.
Our house tuning — slight low-end emphasis at 80Hz (+1.5dB), perfectly neutral midrange, gentle air at 8kHz (+1dB). Designed against the Harman 2018 target, then walked back 30% toward neutral. Not "fun", not "flat". Honest.
Every M is repairable indefinitely. We stock drivers, cups, headbands, cables, and earpads for 15 years minimum from launch. Out-of-warranty repairs are at-cost — typically €60–€180 depending on the part. Send to Berlin, we ship back in 10 business days.
M1, M1 Stealth, M3, M3 Pro, M Air: no. They drive cleanly from any decent phone or laptop. M0, M0 Pro, M0 Heritage (planar): yes — even a $100 DAC/amp makes a real difference. Without one, they're quiet and lifeless.
The wood. Walnut and cherry are CNC-machined from boards we hand-pick at a Bavarian timber yard. Each batch is 100–200 units. When they're gone, that batch is gone. We don't restock — we make a new run with whatever wood we find next.
Send your unit back to Berlin once a year (or whenever it starts sounding "off"). We measure it on the Audio Precision rig it was originally tuned on, replace any drifted components, re-pair the drivers if needed, and ship it back. Free for life. You pay shipping one way.
Because we believe in iteration over expansion. The M1 went through 17 prototypes before launch. We'd rather make 10 things we'd buy ourselves than 50 things we'd sell. Heritage editions add finish variants; the actual platform count stays small on purpose.

We started in 2019 in a Kreuzberg workshop — two mastering engineers and one industrial designer who couldn't find headphones that didn't lie. The first M0 took us fourteen months to ship. Eighty-three units. We sold them by word of mouth to people we already knew.

Six years later, we've made eleven products, we still measure every driver pair by hand, and we still ship from the same building. We don't do seasonal collections. We don't run sales. When a Heritage batch sells out, we make a new one with different wood, not the same wood again.

Everything we build is meant to outlast its buyer. Every driver, cable, earpad, and headband is replaceable. We stock parts for fifteen years. Lifetime calibration is genuinely lifetime. If that sounds slow, it is. It's also the only honest way we know how to do this.
